Fi Glass 580 Lightning

John Crawford Marine has just landed this “like-new” presented FiGlass 580 Lightning package. Beautifully designed and manufactured from our nautical minded mates across the ditch. FiGlass have been manufacturing quality fiberglass trailer boats for decades and have built an enviable reputation within the sector.

This package was imported by the owner when the family moved to Australia and at the time majority of the hours were from use in a local NZ freshwater dam, water skiing and trout fishing! (Hence the ski pole and down-rigger).

Due to the move to Aus, the boat has had very little use and has been laid up in storage in a shed. To walk past it, you may well assume it’s a brand new package! We hope the photos do it justice.

The 580 Lightning is marketed as an allrounder with family and fishing friendly features bult into the design to maximise your enjoyment on the water what ever your motivation may be. A comfortable cabin with upholstered cushions for the kids to enjoy a lay down, a large cockpit and seating for 5 adults and a deep V hull that will eat the afternoons bay chop!

Powered by a 2022, maximum HP rated Mercury 150Hp 150XL4S EFI four stroke that has only recorded a low 44 hours, mostly freshwater use motor. The big 3.0L 4 cylinder, delivers exceptional power, can easily pull an adult skier or run you across the bay economically with 5 people and the days gear aboard.

Steering is made light via the Baystar hydraulic steering system fitted and the motor spins a stainless steel “Tempest Plus” propeller and range is assured with a 140L underfloor fuel tank.

The helm is well designed and incorporates a flush mounted sounder/GPS, VHF radio, the boats switching and engine gauges. Over head a sports canopy provides shade when zipped up, or open for airflow, further fitted with side clears providing weather protection. When being stored or towed the boat has also been fitted with a cockpit tonneau cover as pictured.

Trailering

Trailered on a FiGlass trailer that marries to the hull like a glove. The trailer features mechanical override disc brakes that were upgraded to stainless steel rotors for superior braking and durability.

Further the brakes have been workshop checked to ensure the road worthiness and readiness for the towing over the summer boating season.
