JCM has just landed this Seascape 532 Sun Cruiser aluminium half cabin (Built by TABS Boats on the Gold Coast) that will make for an ideal bay family and fishing rig. As the photos depict, this is a huge 5.3m tinny that dwarfs other leading brands claiming the same model size. The beam offer great stability at rest and cockpit features deep internal freeboard ideal if young ones are aboard or to lean the thigh against when reeling in the big one!

First Impressions

The design is well thought out with plenty of storage throughout the boat, cavernous cabin with padded bunk cushions making an ideal place for a n overnighter or if the children get sleepy after lunch. A large cabin hatch can be easily opened allowing plenty of ventilation through when at anchor and makes for safe passageway to access the ground tackle.

The helm is comfortable with the dash fitted with Honda engine instrumentation, a VHF radio for back to base or boat to boat communications and for the angler a large screen Humminbird 917C combo GPS/Sounder and includes a mapping card.

The Motor

Powered by a freshly serviced Honda VTEC 90Hp four stroke that has recorded a low 248 hours use. Like all outboards sold through JCM, they are pretested for quality assurance. The 90Hp is a perfect power match for the hull delivering exceptional economy and more than enough power to push a family of 5 efficiently. Spinning a stainless steel Express 3 blade prop and with approx 100l of fuel capacity under the floor, range is assured for the angler in the family to get out to your favorite haunt.

On the Water

Overhead a large bimini top with an extension roof over the cockpit provides ample shade on those hot summer days. These also easily fold down out of the way if need be for storage purposes.  Seating for 5 is provided and I like how under the driver’s seat room is made by the framing to store your esky – clever thinking Seascape!

On the Trailer

Trailering is made easy being trailered on the Redco RE1613Q-MO single axle braked trailer that marries to the hull like a glove. The trailer has been fully serviced and the next owner gets the added value of 2 new light tyres, new braking discs/wheel bearings/brake pads and the calipers serviced and adjusted. Meaning you can tow away with confidence knowing it’s been workshop backed rather than take the gambit if buying from the local classies.
