Stabicraft 1600 Frontier centre console – the ultimate sports pocket-sized fishing weapon from the 8^th state across the ditch and what a rig! As the photos depict, high internal freeboard, the peace of mind with the design incorporating the buoyancy tanks and a tough as nails plate alloy construction.

First Impressions

This model is something that would be at home flicking lures in the creeks of Weipa as it would be drifting the flats of the sandy Straights spinning for Flatties – such is the “Allrounder” of this model. The console is well positioned for good hull balance with 3 up and we like how the helm is well positioned for us tallies when standing to steer.

With the same hull as the 1600 Fisher (Cuddy style model from Stabi) complete with the Game Chaser transom and Arrow pontoons and the console well positioned you feel like you are in a much larger boat.

On the Water

Overhead a large 4 bow bimini top offers ample shade from the midday sun and this easily folds down for storage when not in use and the custom-made console cover cab be fitted to keep the console.  The dash is beautifully set up with a colour screen Garmin Echomap SV combo GPS/Sounder, a GME AM/FM radio, a VHF radio and dual Yamaha digital engine gauges.  You will love the light and non-feedback steering as a Sea Star hydraulic system has been fitted.

The Motor

The boat is powered by a Yamaha 70Hp F70LA EFI four stroke that has recorded a low 203 hours. As a further buyer’s bonus, the outboard has just had its annual service completed along with 2 brand new MFM marine batteries installed. Atop of this, JCM backs the motor with a 3-month BIA warranty! The F70 is the perfect power match for economy and boats balance and the days gear aboard.

For the Angler

This rig is all about fishing,  storage box mid ship for stowing the gear, saltwater deck wash, a plumbed live bait tank, awesome bait prep table on the transom fitted with rod holders, look at the drink holders along the topsides of the gunnels for your chosen can of brew or soda and the width in their design, making for a good seat between bites.

Trailering is made easy as the price includes the Dunbier R5.0HD single axle braked trailer that marries to the hull like a glove.
