JCM is proud to have just listed this beautiful trailer sailor and have her grace our boat yard in wait to give her next owners enjoyment on our waterways. “Tweeka” is a Compac Suncat 17 TS that is filled with user friendly design features and accessories for the family to enjoy a comfortable day afloat sailing.

First Impressions

As the pictures depict the boat runs a Gaff Rig for simplicity and we love the folding mast that allows one capable person to stand the mast and set up for the days adventure. When not in use and folded the boom/mast can lay atop of the stern mounted cradle above the bimini top.

On the Water

The cockpit has enough room for 4 people and has a self-draining floor and two large storage holds port and starboard with another 3^rd smaller storage hold in the transom. The bimini is easily stood and offers some shade from the midday sun and can be lowered and stored in the supplied storage sock. Top decks are easy to traverse as they have a textured nonskid finish making passage to the bow an easy affair with added timber hold rails.

The original 2 stroke outboard was replaced in 2016 with this four stroke MF5S Tohatsu 5Hp with a high thrust propeller allowing the owner to enjoy ample power and sailing on the inland freshwater lakes. The motor has been mechanically inspected and is all within manufacturers tolerances and an engine service was completed in March 2019 for your further reassurance. The motor is a long shaft and mounts on the transom outboard bracket and comes with books and manuals and a 12l aux fuel tank.

Isn't the cabin quaint, clean, light and airy!

With upholstered bunk cushions allowing 2 to sleep, opening port and starboard cabin windows for ventilation and light and the companion way is easy to walk through with removable storm boards and a sliding hatch.  We have tried to capture this space highlighting the clever design and that everything has a home for the stove, chemical toilet, battery hold etc. Even a small solar panel keeps the battery topped up and a battery management system is installed.

The owner has loved this sailboat and it's easy to see why as for a late model 17 footer to take the grandchildren or children out for a sail is both comfortable and easy to do.

Due to the second-hand nature of the rig, accessories, hull, fittings and sails- are sold in AS IS condition.  No warranty is implied nor given. The purchaser is to familiarise themselves as to the 'fit for their purpose' and rely on a surveyor at their cost for hull condition. No 'On Water Demonstrations' are offered on trailer sailers.

John Crawford Marine accepts late model trade-ins on all stock.  The advertised price includes condition reports on the motor and trailer, PPSR title search and registration for QLD buyers, workshop pre-delivery, drop mast, boat wash and handover. We also offer competitive Insurance quotations. JCM can also assist in arranging boat transportation to mainland Australia.
