The team is very excited to offer the sailing enthusiast this wonderful example heavily optioned Ross 780 Mk 111 “Pura Vida” trailer sailor.
As the comprehensive overview of pictures and listed inventory demonstrate, she offers the family or a couple a tremendous opportunity to own one of the best maxi trailer sailing boats on the Australian market.
Our Dealership is located just 15 minutes from Brisbane Airport.
The Ross is a 7.8m fiberglass mono hull, with a towable beam of 2.45m and with her slip stream aerodynamics unlike a caravan offers the explorer in the family the option to tow the coastal highways, staying overnight on terra-firma in the boat, yet when the horizon calls you to a quieter place to drop the anchor, set the sails and enjoy the spoils of protected coastal sailing and explore our beautiful waterways.
From Newcastle to Nara Inlet in the Whitsundays, where could $50,000 take you so affordably and comfortably for years and years ahead? #holidayathome #ownanassett
“Pura Vida” is a relatively easy boat to sail and comes with a choice of sails including a Mainsail, 3 jibs, a Genoa and a spinnaker for the experienced sailor. Your chosen insurer will be happy to know that the standing rigging was replaced a few years ago and the running rigging was mostly new last year.
The cockpit is voluminous with more than enough space for 6 people to be seated and under the shade of the large bimini top. Cockpit sailing at its best and when at anchor, the open back “semi sugar scoop” transom will delight the kids for jumping from and re-boarding for hours of fun swimming and frolicking.
The vessel has been stored dockside in Manly Qld, and the owners has spared no money in ensuring the effects of the sun minimize damage to the hull and hence a sail bag/cover along with a large almost full length shade cover has been fabricated to allow ventilation yet offer plenty of shade.
Either when stored or on the water the 80w solar panel will maintain power to the two gel batteries via the smart charger (see photo in the main v-berth cabin) and a 240v charger is installed for shore power hook up.
Down below the 780's are renowned for their internal volume, generous head room and creature comforts. A huge double berth under the cockpit with opening ports, a vee berth in the bow and room for kids to sleep in the saloon. The galley lends itself to longer stays afloat with room for provisions, a sink, two burner metho stove, 12v refrigerator and a built-in ice box.
If the wind drops out and you need to reply on motoring, the vessel can be powered by the 2005 model 9.8Hp four stroke Tohatsu outboard that will provide almost smoke free and efficient/quiet motoring in and out of the harbour or taking you to the next anchorage. When coming home, or navigating shallow anchorages, the keel in this Ross can be raised and lowered via the electrically cockpit operated Keel motor. With the keel down, its reported draft is 2m and when up only 40cm!
The trailer is the original 2002 Opal Tandem Trailer made locally for the Ross and in 2012 was upgraded with 4 wheel braking system and electric over hydraulic break away system from Sensa Brake. The trailer will require some workshop servicing to bring up to a Road worthy standard if the buyer is wanting a road registered trailer, if not, it’s a perfect trailer to store the boat on at the local Marina/Hardstand. This second option is also very popular for families wanting to keep the rig standing and not wanting to own a larger tow vehicle. Either option can be discussed in person with one of knowledgeable sales team at JCM.
This is a wonderful example of a Ross Mk 111 and won't disappoint. Make an appointment today to come and meet the team at JCM and spend some time onboard at the boat yard looking over “Pura Vida”
Please note, due to the age of the package, no warranty in implied nor given, the buyer is recommended to engage at their cost their own professional services to ensure the package as advertised meets their standards and purpose of use.
