Wow, what a side console sports fishing rig! This Stessco Tornado SFX 440 hits the mark for those anglers looking for a heavily optioned and customized 2 person estuary and impoundment fishing package.

First Impressions

Since its delivery new in November 2016, only 71 hours have been recorded and the rig presents as pictures in very good condition #wicked  

The Motor

We all love the Yamaha four strokes and this rig although rated to a 60Hp was fitted with a 40Hp EFI four stroke as only two fished from it and has recorded via our computer diagnostic tested a verified 71 hours use. All the conveniences one wants on a boat this size, are fitted including electric start, power trim and tilt and you get to steer behind a well-designed side console.

Prior to listing our workshop has also completed the annual engine warranty so you can enjoy summer boating without the costs or down time of servicing and JCM further backs the Yamaha with a 3 month engine warranty for further buyers confidence.

On the Water

The side console has the Yamaha digital engine gauge fitted, a GME G-Com 27 meg radio for boat to boat communications and even a stereo system for those that like their tunes whilst afloat. Atop of the dash sits the Raymarine Dragonfly 4 Pro colour screen combo GPS/Sounder. And what a unit for the estuaries with Raymarine down scan transducer installed and the unit includes the mapping card saving your further expense and outlay.

Overhead a large 3 bow bimini top provides ample shade on the hot balmy summer days and when not in use this can be easily folded and neatly packed back in to the built in storage sock – ideal for when towing down the highway or storing undercover in the garage at home. A full boat storage cover is also included, these lightweight covers help keep the dust off and the neighbours cat out!

Please note the Watersnake Slider Pro is faulty – it is not advertised as a working accessory.

(It is a 65lbs thrust unit and comes with a battery installed neatly under the bow casting platform, a foot remote and 2 handheld remotes to operate it as it turns on but doesn’t steer.)

The bow casting platform is huge for a boat of this size and we love all the storage areas under for the safety gear etc that helps keep the decks clear from clutter.

The transom externally has two boarding platforms installed both starboard and port, and internally another aft casting platform that houses under a plumbed live bait tank, the start battery along with the 24l fuel tank and with plenty of storage for more gear.

The Trailer

The rig sits atop late model Redco Sportsman trailer manufactured in 2020 and fitted under in February 2020. This model is the RE1313Q-MO with a 1000Kg ATM giving you approx 200Kg to add and still stay within the specs.

The trailer features mechanical override disc brakes, striking alloy dress rims and was upgraded at the time of order to the Q model for “Quickline” centering rollers to make launching and retrieving a simple affair at the boat ramp.
