The 705 Sportsfish makes for a tremendous and very capable offshore fishing boat yet is also just as much at home anchored in a sheltered bay with family friendly features making for a great social day on the water.

As the photos depict, room and space abound throughout the boat from bow to stern and internally. With 3 sliding, access doors to the wheelhouse, wide and deep sided passageways on both port and starboard sides that make it simple to access the bow where there is a brilliant seating system for when at anchor and or to check the ground tackle.

Each of the doors is lockable for security when not in use and provides ample light and ventilation for the Qld climate. Inside the wheelhouse, a large overhead sliding hatch allows more light and when opened plenty of fresh air and we like how the design incorporates further air ventilation when in storage via the dual roof vents between the cockpit and cabin roof.

The cabin provides comfortable seating for 3 adults and the two pedestals feature slide/up and down as well as bolsters for additional comfort. At the helm you are the master of your destiny with the touch screen Simrad NssEVO3s display unit that also integrates with the Fusion 4 speaker Bluetooth stereo system and the Mercury engine management system.

Steering is very light and direct via the hydraulic steering system and I like how the steering wheel can also be adjusted up and down for comfort when steering in the standing position or seated. Comfortable footrests are also cleverly incorporated. This Mercury features the Digital Throttle Shift (DTS) system, meaning no clunky gear shift and cables, the gear shift is smooth and responsive and a pleasure to use.

The helm also houses the Bow thruster controls, Simrad VHF radio, Mercury Smart Craft gauges and the Mercury Active Trim system that takes the guesswork out of trimming the motor resulting in better fuel economy and ride comfort. Seriously, a brilliant set up / easy to use and makes for better boating.

Moving down into the cabin, a large offset cushioned bed will provide respite for two children cosily as this hull has been optioned with the marine toilet/holding tank as pictured.  A cabin ventilation window is fitted along with a privacy door as pictured. Under the cushioned bunks, storage is provided for additional items seldomly used.

The cockpit… well this is the either the ultimate battle station for the serious sports angler or a large, high sided ample volume, social area for seating, eating and having some fun in the sun. As pictured, 2 fold away quality stainless steel framed seats recess neatly and a large dining table can be quickly installed.

Overhead cockpit shade can be quickly provided by the retractable pull-out sun awning or pushed back away when fishing. After a swim, reboarding is easy via the stainless steel, telescopic 4 rung boarding ladder and both port and starboard swim platforms have been optioned on this 705 along with the freshwater transom shower. Boarding gates both port and starboard help keep the young ones aboard.
